About Technique Polytechnic Institute (TPI)
Technique Polytechnic Institute offers 3-year diploma programs in Engineering and Technology and is located at Panchrokhi, Sugandhya - near the historic towns of Hooghly and Bandel. While West Bengal has seen significant growth in technical institutes over the past two decades, there remains a gap in producing quality professionals to meet global industrial demands. The Hooghly district, in particular, has only 11 out of 156 polytechnics in the state (as of 2024-25), highlighting the need for further development in technical education. Recognising this opportunity, we envision establishing a full-fledged, international standard technical institute in Bandel. Back by 45 years of experience in infrastructure development, our dedicated promoters are committed to delivering an institution of excellence that contributes meaningfully to the region’s educational and industrial landscape.
About the Department of Computer Science & Technology
The Department of Computer Science & Technology (CST) was established in 2008, the same year as the inception of the institute, with an initial index of 60 students. Currently, the department has an intake capacity of 120 and has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) since 2017. The department prides itself on a team of highly qualified faculty with rich teaching experience, well-equipped laboratories, and a dedicated departmental library. Graduates from the department consistently perform well in competitive exams like JELET, with many pursuing higher studies, while others have secured placements in reputed companies.
Objectives of the Workshop
Organized under the AICTE–VAANI (Vibrant Advocacy for Advancement and Nurturing of Inclusion) scheme, this workshop aims to strengthen the professional competencies and academic expertise of faculty members. The primary objectives are:
• To provide an advanced and comprehensive understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science concepts and applications.
• To equip faculty with the skills to effectively integrate AI and Data Science into academic curricula and contemporary teaching methodologies.
• To foster the development of innovative, data-driven teaching strategies and curriculum design aligned with emerging technologies.
• To deliver hands-on training in key tools and techniques related to Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Big Data Analytics, and associated domains.
• To promote awareness of inclusive, technology-enabled education practices, ensuring accessibility and engagement for diverse learners.
• To encourage faculty participation in research, project-based learning, and collaborative initiatives with industry in the areas of AI and Data Science.
• To align faculty competencies with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, particularly in promoting technology-integrated and outcome-based higher education.
